The First Weekend in January

Published by saraehickman at 5:47 pm under Family Edit This

Well, it is the first weekend of January. In my world that means it is two things 1. The beginning of the end of football season. Very sad. 2. It is also time to take down the tree. Sad. However, it went very well. My husband and I took on the responsibility. Well let me rephrase that. I took on the responsibility and he opted to help.

In November 3/4 ths of my family moved to Ohio. We have combined households and are sharing a lovely 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath house. Well combining houses also means combining things. After putting Christmas back into the variety of storage containers. I have 1 tree, 3 Rubbermaid tubs, and two fiber optic boxes. My mom on the other hand. 3 trees (2 large and one small), 10 Rubbermaid tubs, 3 boxes and 3 boxes that contain that specific item. Our hallway is lined.

My question is how does this happen? How does she have so much and I have so little. I have 1/3 of what she does. She does not have all the things we have from when we grew up either. Part of me wants as much as she has, but then part of me doesn’t. I think the main culprit here is that the things she has are large. While putting it away we have one tub that is just her new angel for the tree and lights for the largest tree.

I love Christmas and I love that she has so much that while we are living together, I can just enjoy hers.

I’m pretty sure it’s because she’s like way older and has had a collection longer. and… we never what to get her for christmas so we always buy her christmas stuff haha. oh and she inherited a lot of grandma’s stuff :)

i think you should be thankful you dont have as much.. cuz then it means you’re old :) haha
